Lake Taupo District hosts a variety of exciting events throughout the year:
- Lake Taupo Arts Festival
Performers and artists from abroad and New Zealand, held in February.
- Jambalaya – NZ Festival of Latin Rhythm and Dance
An annual festival of Latin dance and percussion held at Easter.
- Harvest Lake Taupo
Festival of wine celebrated in May. Taupo’s first winery opened a few years ago and other boutique wineries are springing up in the region. Great for a spot of Pinot Noir.
- Coffee Festival
A three day event celebrating coffee. Bringing together coffee lovers, coffee roasters and everyone in between. Displays, roasting, tasting, the art of making coffee and cooking with coffee. Held in October.
